Don’t Kick Me Out
Write a short story personifying a diabetes tool you use on a daily basis. A meter, syringe, pump, pill, etc. Give it a personality and a name and let it speak through you. What would it be happy about, upset about, mad about?
Thank you Heather of Unexpected Blues for this topic.
There are many others who want to Tell You a Story!
I know that the only thing you want out of life is for me to work. Working ALL the time is tiring! I didn’t mean to let you down, but I just thought I’d take a nap, or maybe hibernate for a little while. I sat here nestled inside you behind your stomach and thought it would keep me warm and hopefully nudge me when I had napped too long. I never thought that by taking a nap I would also shut down. I didn’t mean to turn your body against you! If I had known, I never would have tried to nap. Maybe you’ve noticed that occasionally I wake up, and of course you hate that too. Mostly because you don’t know why you’re so low for so long. I am hoping that one day I will wake up for good though. Until then, don’t kick me out of your body & keep up the good work doing my job!
I didn’t think anyone could make me feel sorry for a bum pancreas, but you sure did. Great story.
Great post, Briley!
