Day of Diabetes – Twitter Style
Every day I live with diabetes. It isn’t just when it’s bad or just when it’s good. It’s every day, and diabetes thoughts pop up all the time. Because of this, Chris decided to start #dayofdiabetes on twitter. I followed along during his day, and then watched as more and more people did it. I felt a nudge to participate, but wasn’t sure. When I woke up Saturday, I decided it was time. Not just because I think it’s valuable, but because it is important to let people know that diabetes doesn’t take a break just because it is the weekend. (Even though me having my phone out all day drove my mother nuts.)
Kerri does a much better job of describing why it’s important, and you can check that out here.
Here is my story. (Thank you for putting this together Chris!)
Not only is every day for my diabetes different, but the same day can be very different for people with diabetes. The goal is to get people to understand what acting like an organ is really like. There are plenty of people participating, and you should check out their stories as well!
