Smiles All Around
This week has been a little off for me. On Monday afternoon, I looked at my meter and realized that it was April 29. I had thought that Tuesday was going to be the 29th, and that I had my endo appointment on the 29th. Luckily there was a cancellation yesterday. After an experience like this nearly made me late, and my blood sugar was dropping, and I was laughing with the check in lady and the phlebotomist was awesome, I saw my endo. She asked if I had any questions, and I mentioned wanting to talk with the exercise doctors because I’m still not sure my patterns are the best for me, she said “let’s check your A1C.” I was nervous. I haven’t been paying all that much attention and I had no logs or even Dexcom reports to show her. But then again, diabetes hasn’t really been sticking out lately and she says “you are at 6.8.” I had a GIANT smile on my face, but I also had to ask “are you sure? Is that really my chart?” She said yes and then she had a “there’s really nothing I think we need to change.” She did mention paying attention to my “extreme” sugars to see if I can figure out why they are happening and we could tighten my range anymore, but I’ve dropped from 7.7 to 6.8 in three months. When I called mom to ask about what they were when I was a kid, she didn’t remember/we didn’t really use it as a measurement. So. This is officially my lowest A1C that I have ever known. Yes I celebrated with ice cream last night and yes I’ll be celebrating tonight too.
Way to go!!!
Congratulations Briley! Smiles all around, indeed…
Congrats! That is fantastic.
