Third Time is a Charm
I did not intend to take a month long blog vacation, but sometimes it just happens. (Also, there are posts waiting for pictures which are in my camera. And the cord has disappeared.)
My new work insurance kicked in last month, so when it was time to reorder my pump supplies, I had to wait until they would actually ship, because they needed to wait for insurance approval. I told the woman that I wanted to change the length of the tubing I get. Right now I get the 23 inch tubing, but I want the 43 inch tubing. It makes skiing with an insulin pump so much easier. So when the large Animas box showed up with all 23 tubing pump sites, I was very disappointed. I called them and explained the situation. All my unopened boxes were going to be replaced. On Friday morning, I got an automated phone call reminding me to return my old shipment. I thought the timing was funny because I hadn’t received the new ones yet. When I was back at my computer, I tracked the shipment and I saw that it had been delivered the day before. I also noticed that it got delivered to my old apartment. To say that I was angry is a slight understatement. I called Animas back and explained the situation. I also told her that my old roommate currently has the flu, and therefore I’m not going anywhere near the house. She told me there was nothing she could do. I calmly & sternly told her “This was not my fault. Can I please talk to your supervisor?” I never did talk to the supervisor, but my replacements showed up in the mail today, and they’re sending UPS to pick up the ones from my old house. I’ve never been a stern person, or one who can yell at someone, but I took the advice my mother has been giving me forever, and I finally received what I should’ve gotten in the first box.
