Christmas Spirit
Even though I am on vacation, there was a lot of “stuff” that had to get done today before the holidays REALLY start. I knew I needed to refill the test strips in my purse so I went to the bag where they were and couldn’t find it. Come to find out, it went out with the wrapping paper scraps AND today was trash day and by the time I figured it out, then trash was gone.
*Insert Meltdown Here*
See, Wednesday I picked up one month’s worth of strips. And they’re gone. I went down to the local pharmacy and picked up some, where the niceness & sympathy of the pharmacist almost made me cry again. And then I tweeted. Because if anyone is going to understand, it’s going to be the other people with diabetes. I got “oh no’s” and “what are you going to do’s” but the ones that really touched me were the messages and mentions offering to send me strips. And then Abby offered to meet me before she leaves town for the holiday. And that’s just what we did. I still don’t have my full 250, but I have enough where I don’t have to worry. And I have a smile that can’t be explained. Something that could have ruined my whole day & vacation, ended up making me feel more grateful & thankful and feeling the spirit of the season.
My heart … she is warmed. 🙂
