Picnic

All about the Insulin

Have you ever heard of the game “I’m going on a picnic”?  If not, you’re supposed to go through the whole alphabet and say one thing from each letter, but repeat every letter’s item as well.  Girl Genius and I play at least once per day (without repeating every single thing – I need to keep her entertained AND happy).  We played Friday morning on the way to school, and it was my turn for the letter I. Every other time I’ve had “I,” I’ve said ice or ice cream.  I decided to get creative and I said “I’m going on a picnic and I’m bringing an insulin pump.” Boy Genius didn’t say anything, but Girl Genius about melted my heart.  “Good idea! Otherwise you can’t eat!!”  Does she really understand that I need insulin every time I eat?  Apparently she does and she’s living up to her name.
