Rolling Away
As I was getting ready for bed Friday night, I realized I wouldn’t make it through the night with the insulin left in my pump. I’m not a fan of, nor do I advocate for late night pump changes, but sometimes it just has to happen. I decided to just do mine right in my bed. I’ve done this before, and rest everything on top of the plastic container top. However after I rewinded my pump, that new reservoir was no where to be found. I checked everywhere: the pillow, under the sheet, under the comforter, the bedside table, the bureau, I even went into the bathroom. I didn’t want to use another 200 units of insulin. I had the brilliant idea to check the floor, and there it was under my bed, right at the edge of the rug. I couldn’t believe I had let it get away from me, and I vowed to never change it like that again. If I had to guess though, I’m guessing I will.
