One Year
September 16, 2011
A year ago yesterday I started my blog. It was more days than that though because I was so scared to start a diabetes specific blog that it just sat in my drafts for a few days before I hit publish. And then another, and another. A few days later I joined twitter, and the rest is history. So let’s see what has happened in that year:
- Holding myself accountable for a blog made me hold myself accountable for my health, and I finally started dedicating time every day for my diabetes, and I finally went to the doctor’s as well, where I feel welcome every time.
- I have made more friends than I ever could’ve imagined. Wait a minute. I wasn’t even expecting to make friends, so all of you are an unintended, but greatest benefit for me being involved in medical social media.
- I started to get involved with others, and participate in #dsma, and join groups. The first group thing was D-blog day in November. I didn’t know it was possible for that many people to read my blog in one day, and the comments made me smile more than I thought possible. And who could forget D-Blog week in May?
- I met one of my best friends and then decided to fly across the country for a weekend.
To say the least, this blog has been a positive thing in my life. I’m glad to have you all in my life, and here’s to many more years 🙂
