Great Response
July 5, 2011
On Sunday, we headed up to “the lake” for a family party. (More to come on the fun times of that later.) I was talking to my aunt’s sister, who is a pharmacist in a local hospital. Recently this hospital started putting together a pump policy for when patients come in, headed by the diabetes educator. From my understanding, one of the surgeons asked about taking it off during surgery. The response: “Do you turn off a pancreas during surgery.” It made me laugh, and it made the room understand that we need our pumps.

What a great smart-A response from that surgeon! Love it! It’s pretty cool the hospital is putting a pump policy in place. Makes me wonder what our local hospitals have, and I’m going to investigate that when there’s time. Thanks for sharing this!
